Yesterday > Tomorrow (Easterwords)

it seemed that the bridge was forever broken

a helpless body twisting in the wind

it seemed that a witch had frozen our world in a January so bitter…so under the weather

that we wondered if we ever could find a thaw

but maybe a seed must fall and die before it is finally free to burst into color

maybe before we can feel the summer we must struggle through the valleys of winter

even now melting away, from the fringes to the center

as the sun begins to reign

creating a river of living water

a way out, a resurrection from our sorrow

and maybe that’s why spring is the time for Easter

maybe the best news we will hear today is that our yesterday doesn’t have to be our tomorrow…
